"Baseline Road in Boulder, Colorado traces the 40th parallel north—the line used as the surveying baseline when the Colorado Territory was formed in 1861. It served as a key geographic marker during westward expansion and ends at Chautauqua Park, where the plains meet the Rocky Mountains.
Growing up, I spent a lot of time hiking, climbing, and cycling in those mountains. For me, Baseline is a reference point and a reminder of the foundation everything is built on."
